It's July 14, 2016 and the Ponchatoula Peltier's are on their way to Costa Rica! Rob, Tara, Davis, and Lawton had a long day of travel. We flew from New Orleans to Houston (a short 50 minutes). After almost a 4 hour layover, we headed south to the capital city of San Jose. We arrived late - 10:25 pm and cued up into the custom and immigration lines before heading to the Hotel Bogainvillea.
Sitting in Hobby Airport, Lawton and Tara tried passing the time by counting the number of takeoff's and landings. This distraction tool was an attempt to preoccupy Lawton who is beaming with excitement and had trouble staying in one place for greater than a nanosecond. As expected the game got old before our layover was complete. On the way to the hotel, I think Lawton decided to use the minivan as his own private bounce house. Tara allowed him to have a caffeinated soda on the plane - combined with a bag of Spree and internal excitement - produced an unstoppable emotional inertia. The late night and long day of travel did catch up with him and he fell asleep rather quickly at the hotel.
